it is only so long as it is wanted advances but if unwanted then it is not legal. i do thank you do get a chance to back off though once it is made known that it is unwanted, however, i could be wrong about that and you could plainly be out of luck if it is unwanted right off. and in some states it is not legal to even check them out as they even have leering laws.

I think that depends where you're expressing the interest.  The workplace is no place for romantic or sexual banter.  On your own personal time, though, it's all about respect, or lack thereof.  You treat others a certain way, some people will respond in kind.  Others won't be as interested (or might sue you as 1stClass... humorously comments.)  We only walk on eggshells if we want to.  Call it feminism or what have you.  That's a label.  Personally, I expect respect, regardless of gender.  I trust others do as well.
