  1. no

  2. It is just fine to cry over Barbaro. I feel the same way you do and I'm 30 years old. It is good to let your emotions out and not hold it in. It will take time for you to get over it. It seems like every time I think I'm over it, a story will come on about him like that movie that is coming on NBC April 29th "Barbaro A Nation's Horse" to remind me about it. Your just human is all, and that is fanatasic to know you have such a big heart just like Barbaro did trying to beat the odds.

  3. You're normal - (Internet hugs, little sis)

My 'Barbaro' was the filly 'Ruffian'.

I think that when a horse lover sees a horse with exceptional personality, intelligence, courage and fight (all rare enough qualities in horses in general), watches them in all their greatness (Barbaro was incredible!) - then watches in horror when that animal breaks down - and, (In Barbaro's case) holds out a desperate hope for MONTHS that they can be saved, and then has it be to no avail... *sighs heavily*

Its very hard not to come away with a feeling of being cheated.

I'm sure you wished and prayed hard enough. It was just not meant to be.

Getting teary over events like these probably goes a little deeper than the event does. They remind us about our own hopes and dreams, successes and failures... and what else this life has in store for us....

For Barbaro and Ruffian, just surviving would have been such wonderful victories. And with Barbaro, the emotional "cut" is still fresh... time will help

    - and a horse to hug/cry on.

All the Kings' horses and all the Kings' men....

  4. well, so long as being sad over him dieing doesn't rule your life then i think your OK.

  5. its ok to be passionate about sports, if the cubs ever win a world series you bet i will probably shed tears of joy, sometimes watching old 85 bears superbowl highlights gets me a bit misty eyed.

  6. Yes it is ok...u just have to realize that if it starts to control ur life, its time to get over it. We have lose two heros this year and it IS ALRIGHT to cry. Barbaros death was not fair and very sad. But we must remeber he got injured doing what he loved. He hated being locked up in that stall. We must think that he is running around with other horses right now. Be grateful that he free now. thats all that matters. just remeber him as the great horse he was and will always be.
