  1. I wouldn't risk it, but it's your choice...

  2. as long as the seal isn't broken it should be all good. (:

  3. assuming that it hasnt been opened before, sure!

  4. no. food poisoning

  5. yes it will work fine.

  6. Yes it is fine. The date on the package is the "sell-by" date. Most products are good for several weeks even months after that date. (with the exception of highly perishable food like eggs, milk and produce)

  7. I think it would be fine as long as the seal wasn't broken. I have done it before.

  8. If it smells of tastes funny don't use it. I wouldn't risk it because it's so easy to make buttercream frosting.

8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter, at room temperature

    3 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted

    3 to 5 tablespoons milk

    1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

You just put the butter in the bowl first blend with a mixer until soft. Then add milk and extract. and slowly add the confectioners sugar until the consistency you want is reached.

  9. you can make someone sick.

  10. The expiration dates on products do not necessarily mean that the product is no good after that date; or you have to throw the item away.  It is the company's way of saying they take no responsibility for anything that happens after that date - if it's spoiled or something happens to the person.  After that date it's just not known whether it's good or not (they tested the product up to that date and they promise that it's good until then).

For future reference - with meds, after the expiry date, the effectiveness of the medication is unknown - in other words, it could be 100% effective, 50% effective, or a waste of time.

Having said ALL that, open it and taste it.  I'm sure if it smells or tastes rancid you'll know what to do.  Otherwise use it in peace (I'm jealous because I'm on a diet).  :)

Zoey P offered a good alternative - if you have the ingredients.

    Take care.

  11. I have used one after the expiration date too (that was still seal intact) and had no problems at all either.

  12. Should be ok if the seal isnt broken, but you should taste and smell it first to make sure.

  13. I would not trust it...but taste it before putting it on the cake or what ever it is you are making it before you actually put all of it...

  14. probably not..
