Is it still okay to use my foreign passport if it is due to expire in 5 months on my date of travel?

I intend to travel for 2 weeks abroad in August and my passport will expire in January 2008... do I have to renew it before August???

Will it matter? I will be back in 2 weeks anyway? Pls help!

  1. It depends on your nationality and which country you're going to. For example; if you have a British passport and going to France you can stay there until the day of expiry ( http://www.consulfrance-londres.org/arti... ). However, most countries are part of the 6 month club (meaning you can need at least 6 months validity on your passport from the time you enter).


  2. yes it will matter , you usually have to have 6 months left of validity on your passport to travel to most countries , some require more ,you will only have 5 months on exiting the US;

    so, i advise you to renew it ,you may be refused exit from the US and entry to some countries .......

    you travel time away has nothing to do with this policy .
