Is it still possible to get a free private phone number online?

I have been completing surveys on some GPT sites and have getting a lot of calls from various companies on my cell and am getting sick of it! I want to get a private phone number online but a lot of the companies that offered them have ended the service. Does anybody know where I can still get one?

There are several things you can do.

1. Get an extra phone line on your account. I'm with At&t, and an extra account costs 10 bucks a month. Just buy a cheap phone and give your new number to the companies. Whenever it rings just don't pick it up.

2. If you have an extra line that you don't do much, use that.

3. See if your phone has a reject list. When I started getting loads and loads of calls, I put them on the reject list and the calls just went straight there.

4. Buy a phone card and a cheap phone. Activate your card and use that to give out your numbers.

PrivatePhone.com went offline in February 2008. Unless another company besides NetZero offers a similar service, the answer is no. I need this, since I live overseas.
