Is it still possible to have a virus?

even though your Norton anti-virus scan says you do not and

your live updates are working?

  1. Yes. the virus signiture database use by Norton can only be updated after somebody submit a virus sample to Norton.

    If the virus sample is not sent to Norton, then Norton AV cannot detect anything.

    My friend use Norton and his PC have lots of viruses even though his live update is working. I use Clamwin AV to scan and detect many trojan viruses that Norton cannot detect.

    Most malwares are designed to attack popular

    antivirus products (like Symantec, Norton), but since free anti-virus product is much less used, it's capable of fighting the viruses when industry leaders fail.

    Symantec/Norton are also responsible for BSOD ( Blue Screen Of Death )

  2. yes, but mostly happens if ur on an unsafe site...

    i use SuperAntiSpyware to do weekly scans and also has mcafee installed

    Go to a free online scanner site such as housecall

    trendmicro.com/housecall

    & bit defender has one also.
