Yes, I used to work for directv in the fraud dept. I had to move out of state so I do not work there anymore. My fiance is an installer in this area. I kno wof many ways to pirate directv and so its still possible. however, i also know how much money and time directv puts into catching theives. I know that company very well, and know enough not pirate the service. directv is slick and has many ways to catch those people. i cant share their secrets - I can be sued. But, i can say this, even little guys are not safe from stealing. There are many ways to catch it and be aware they know mostly when it is done.

Now, if you live in canda the signal is in unowned space - basically we own the orbit where our satalittes are - but do not own the orbit outside of our country/astrological borders are. So, any signal that is roaming there is free service.,

So, people in canda close to the boards get free directv. It isn't illegal. If they buy the equiptment, they own it. So, the only thing is - is the access cards are legally owned by directv - (like credit cards are owned by the companies you get them from - you only own the credits on it and the right to use it with an pen account) So, people in canda are not legally allowed to have the access cards used to get the signal descrambled.

So, that is something dtv has legally to protect them. Its just hard to prove with out going in to the homes of the canadians.

Yes, it is illegal of course but that hasn't stopped it. p****y and theft of services goes on. As quick as they stop one method another surfaces. It will never change.
