Is it still taboo to be seperated or divorced in Ireland?

I'm Irish. I may be getting divorced. I believe it's still taboo. How about you? *I think that rhymes!?*

  2. I dunno some of the more rural and old fashioned communities still think of it as wrong but the mainstream public have accepted it as "normal" for lack of a better word

    I'm from Dublin, but my mam is from Wicklow and dad is from Donegal, They were legally seperated and now are divorced, Some of my parents family from rural areas were quite narrow minded and unaccepting, my family in Dublin didnt blink an eye-lid.

    So I would definitely say to you, If you're in a city or large town that it certainly isn't a taboo and even if you are in a rural part of the country, at the end of the day, Your divorce is your business and nobody elses and there will always be narrow minded people about every situation.

    However, In general, I think that its not a taboo and most people wouldnt think any different because you are/may be divorced.
