Is it still winter in Christchurch, New Zealand, and are the trees bare and the lakes frozen?

  2. First of all New Zealand is a separate country. It is not Australia!

    Should be in New Zealand  category. It's like putting Canada in the USA!

    But, yes, Christchurch is in Winter right now. NZ seasons are opposite from the USA. Some of the trees are bare and some have leaves. NZ is a pretty green country. Plenty of rain.

    But I've known people to vacation there in Winter and still had a great time.. Airfares are the cheapest from USA at this time.

    I don't think all  the lakes are all frozen over, it's not like the cold back east here.

  3. Yes its the final month of winter in New Zealand, Spring starts in September.

    not all the trees are bare no, a lot keep their leaves all year round. also no the lakes aren't frozen i don't think any major lakes in NZ ever freeze over, maybe tiny little ones. Its a beautiful place to visit in Winter, the mountains are at their best covered in snow.
