Reading all the questions here, I am starting to think I'm in the minority. But surely that can't be the case! ...or am I just very lucky?

  1. No, actually it's not strange.  If they've been trained since they were small to do their business in the box, then good for kitty.

If the box is properly maintained, (cleaned regularly with a mild detergent and filled with fresh, kitty-appealing litter), you'll have no problems.

Unless a new kitty is introduced to the home, you change the brand of litter or there is a stressful event occurring in kitty's life (such as a move), more than likely they won't go anywhere but their box.

My kitty lets me know when he doesn't like the brand I get.  He throws all the littler from his box unless it's Fresh Step clumping litter.  (Talk about picky picky, he reminds me of the cat from the Beverly Cleary "Ramona" books).

Hope this answer helps and enjoy your kitty.  Panda sends a "Meow" out to them.

  2. no that's not strange its normal. the fumes from the litter and all makes the cats comfortable using the litter box.well there nature is to use it.

  3. All my kitties used the litter box as soon as we introduced it to them. We were really surprised too!

Unfortunately, we have a very old kitty about 19 years old, and sometimes she misses =( Poor thing!

  4. You just have healthy happy cats. The only time cats usually have litter box problems is when their sick (UTI for example) or feeling stressed, from a change in environment or any of the thousands of other things that gets cats stressed.

The only cat I've had a problem with is the new one that bounced from shelter to shelter before coming to me and being cooped up for a while when she was sick, now she's stressed and trying to claim her place with my other two cats.

  5. No, it's not strange for your cats to have only wanted to pee and poo in their litter tray/box, as all healthy and non problematic behavioural cats should only want to do it there :)  But, that aside, you must love, cherish and look after your cats very well for them to be happy and healthy and to continue to only p**p and pee in their litter tray/box!! :) That is a sure good sign of a very good kitty mum :)

I've been lucky in that way too, even when my little kittygirl Layna had major IBD problems when she first came to live with us, she never poo'd outside her litter tray once. But, it was very hard repetitive work 8 - 14 times a day for months and months to keep her litter tray clean.

Good question to pose, so I'm giving you a star for it!

    All the best.

  6. Yes, you're very fortunate. Cats not using the litter box usually have behavioral,or health problems.

  7. I know how you feel. I have a 6 week old I found in the woods who had never even seen a litter box and he's using it perfectly. Then I see all these questions from people about their kittens not using the box and I feel soooo lucky!

  8. No, it is not strange. That's how it's supposed to be other than having health issues. My 3 cats have also never peed/pooped in other places than their litterboxes! Guess we are both lucky!

Edit: Most cats who do not use litterboxes are most likely indoor/outdoor cats used to peeing/pooping in neighbour's yards!

  9. Some do

    Some do not

Your cat may eventually not go in the litter box

  10. We're lucky! My cat has never done anything outside the litterbox. She even throws up in there when she's sick, and hairballs! I was amazed when I saw this.

  11. maybe you bout it trained

  12. LUCKY!!  :)

  13. I guess you are keeping the litter trays nice and clean, and have enough litter trays to go round, so they are happy to always use them :)  Congratulations on having happy, well-adjusted cats.
