Is it sud america or is it sur america?

Here in Central America (right above South America), we say Sur América or América del Sur. But I have a cousin and a couple of friends in Perú & Chile and they say Sudamérica (not Sud America, not Suramérica). So both ways are ok.

Etchually, it is America del sud.  America the South.

It really depend on what language you want to say it.... If you go to Brazil is " Sulamerica" or "America do Sul"

Sud or Sur America.

As both sud- and sur- are prefixes that mean South.
