Is it surprising that Palin won her mayoral election by 204 votes?

The final tally was 617 for Palin, 413 for her opponent, for a total of 1,030 votes.

I think more people voted for my senior year high school class president.

Now I wonder how many people voted to make her governor?

  1. I don't know where you got your figures. But in the New York Times, it said she got more votes then Biden did when he ran for President. And something tells me, not to believe you.

  2. Have you read up about it? Apparently the incumbent was just as Christian as she was, but Palin got involved with an anti-abortion group and they sent out cards to all of the voters in the very conservative town saying that Palin stood for anti-abortion while her rival was pro-choice. The incumbent said the friendly little race became quite heated and ugly thanks to Palin.

  3. Not really, its a very small place.

  4. Well I think the town population was only like 5,000.

  5. Yeah, My former high schools class presidents have governed over more people than she has.

Her "experience" is just a little too weak, especially since the Republicans have made it their case to criticize Obama's experience. And now they are going against their own standards.

  6. Does it matter?  Did she do a good job?  Is she governing the state of Alaska well?  Is she running things in a fiscally sound manner?

Those would be real issues.  Your jibes are not.
