It depends on the bar or the area. Trends come and go in waves. Maybe the places you used to like are just on the decline, and there are some newer hotter places that you just don't know about, or maybe your area is just in a decline. I'm sure the economy and having less disposable income hurts recreation and entertainment sectors a lot harder than other sectors of the economy.
