I recently bought a Samsung 550 series 5 1080i LCD tv. Do I need to buy a HDMi cable to connect the cable box to the TV that sells at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc..or will the cable that I get from the Cable company be okay? Will the Connection be better with one or the other? The question ask is in reguards to recieving a better picture. I was watching one HD channel and I noticed some pixels popping up and then disappearing. Another HD channel had no pixels or problem at all, what's going on? I also noticed a shaky effect on one area of the TV, then it would disappear, though not on other channels. If it were the TV wouldnt the mention problems be on all channels? Could it be the cable connection? Please Help, family's happiness at stake..

  1. Your HD cable box, as supplied by your cable provider, should have an HDMi connection.  I would use it because this will be your best connection.  Your cable company might offer one at no cost but if not they are readily available from everyone from Best Buy to Wal-Mart and most electronics companies in between.

  2. Sounds like your cable signal is weak. Call your cable company and ask them to come aout and check the signal.

  3. An HDMi cable is neccasary for HDTV. As far is the pixels, it could be a cable lag, which is common with digital cable. Try the cable, if it doesnt work, return it.
