it gets commented alot that the "mexicans" are arrogant or that we have an inferiority complex when it comes to footy, and you all like to sink the boot into the vics, but i put it to you all that with no victoria(where the game originated) there would be no footy period, and with out the VFL being turned into the national league there would be no national league.

yes the interstate sides have the upper hand at the moment and personally i say good luck to you, its good for the game in general to have different sides from different states winning the granny.

but i think deep down you all know you play a VICTORIAN sport which you love, and it hurts you to think this so instead you bag us to help ease that pain, but in doing so you show your insecurities about the vic's

  1. The funny thing about this question is that I couldn't care less.

My point is that, being a Queenslander, I'd rather watch league or union than watch AFL. The reason that more people are turning to union and league is that we offer a better and more exciting product.

Anyway, good luck with your aerial ping-pong. I hope that you'll be able to beat Ireland in your World Cup matches.

  2. yes i agree

these clubs joined the VFL because its the best the original 12 didn't join the country bumpkin league of SA & WA

  3. c'mon forky, who really gives a toss?

Yes the non victorian teams are better at the present moment but that can easily change hands. No team stays the best forever.

I don't think of it as a victorian sport because the game has evolved a lot since it was VFL and who really cares where it originated from it is called 'Aussie Rules'.

I don't bag Victorians but I get really pi ssed off every year that the GF is held there ESPECIALLY when there is no victorian team even playing in it!  but as I said before the game has evolved and the Vic's will soon loose there grip over the game.

  4. Well I don't bag Victorians or people from any other state. I support the Swans but I love a good match irrespective of what state the teams are from. I have no insecurities and respect where and how the game came to be so it's a little unfair to tar all non Victorians with the same brush because of a couple of sad sacks. I love Aussie Rules but I love all the other codes we play here also. They all have my support and respect.

  5. I have never considered Victorians to be arrogant, they always seem to me to be rather sad. They also see rivalries where none exist and try to start arguments when no-one cares. Should we bow and tug our forelocks to England for inventing Rugby, Soccer, Hockey and Cricket? Of course not. What does it matter where the game originated? It is the Australian Football League not a State legue. It might have been the VFL once, it isn't any more.

It is the Victorians who can't handle it, not the rest of the country. Englan invented all those sports and seldom wins at any of them. Victoria invented Aussie Football and can't win at it so they get upset. They won't win again this year. Sydney will beat the Wiggles in the GF.

  6. No. It is the Victorians who have always had an obsession with whinging. The rest of us just get on with it.

  7. thats discrimination.

I'm from perth and until I was 12 I knew Eagles, freo and the other teams were all the same. It wasnt til i was 13 i realised which teams were from where.

If the VFL wasnt made in victoria it would have been made in another sate. It's not a Victorian game but an Australian game. So who really cares - we are all in the same country, why does it matter which state is better?
