I'm too short to reach up there, & the light blew out. I don't have any chairs or anything to stand on.

  1. If you live in an apartment and it's not an "everyday" lightbulb, then it's the landlords job.

  2. Your job. 'Less you have flourescent lights or something like that.

  3. id make my landlord do it.

    and take in my groceries.

and mow w.e lawn i have.

while i hit the ganja lol

  4. yours

if you try too pull that shat you'll get kicked out

  5. You will have to supply the bulb, but possibly the landlord or their staff will be so kind as to help you out with that.

You dont have to install bulbs upon leaving the unit, unless it specifies such in the lease.

  6. Simple if it was working when u moved in then its your responsibility. Major repairs are the landlords.

  7. Landlord.  You dont own the place, you are merely renting from them.  Part of what you are paying in rent includes the landlords maintainence fees. Definately call them up and dont do it yourself.  We pay too much in rent, make them work for it :-)  When you own your own place its a completely different story.

In the very worst case, give them a call and tell them its out and you cant reach it and see what they say, it couldnt hurt.

PLUS they wouldnt want you to get hurt while trying to change the light bulb and then you end up suing them.

    Give them a call.

    Good luck :-)

  8. It is normally yours. But if you are in a condo or a apartment you can ask the maintenance guy to help you out and they will come and do it for you.

  9. if you can't afford a chair then you might consider moving out of the apartment into something smaller so you'll have a little extra money

  10. If you have onsight maintenance just call them.....if you can't reach than they can do it.  Do you have high ceilings?  Anyway like I said just call them.  Who cares what these hateful ppl have to say!

  11. You would have to refer to the contract that you signed with you landlord to see who is responsible for that. Most of the time it is the tenant's responsibility to fix minor things like light bulbs. If you have a light bulb, and can not reach the socket, I'm sure if you called your land lord or asked a neighbor for some help, some one would be willing to help you out.

  12. Sorry...That is your job. If you can't reach it ask a friend or family member.

  13. Tech the landlords job. If you dont have a lease then get a stool and a dollar and buy some bulbs lol

  14. hm..i used to live in an appartment when i was younger..

my paretns changed the kitchen lightbulbs..i don't really see why the landlord should do it

if he's a nice guy, you might be able to get him to do it though

  15. Why don't you ask a friend to help.  Or go borrow a ladder.  It's your responsibility to change it.  It's like running out of toilet paper.  You change the roll, right?

  16. Yours if you want to see. Its considered a consumable item. Buy a really good long life one and you want have to change it as much. Who knows if you ask a neighbor or the maintenace guy nicely maybe they'll give you a hand.

You might want to get a chair though....

  17. If you are able to change the light bulbs then you do ot need your landlord and do it yourself, although if you cannot reach it then yes, you can call your landlord and I am sure they have the tools, like a tall ladder to do the work for you.. Good luck!

  18. I would just replace it ,cause it's just $2.50 for a pack of four bulbs ,hardly worth the trouble.

  19. your job however he should lend you a step stool

  20. It is your responsibility to replace a burned out light bulb. You can purchase one and ask a landlord to replace it for you, but the landlord is not required to do so. If you live in an apartment that has a caretaker, you should ask them to put it in for you.

  21. / It is the landlord's job to replace the lightbulb, but if he doesn't think so, then he needs to have lightbulbs in the house for times when it is necessary to replace the blown bulbs.

Your job isn't to go to the store and buy lightbulbs, but it may be to replace the blown bulbs with one provided by the landlord.

  22. your job unless it broke then landlords

  23. haha check the think u signed before u moved in... but im pretty sure it is your job

  24. First u can ask the landlord to replace it for you. If the landlord kind enough, he/she will surely change it for you. or u can ask ur friend to piggyback you. haha..
