I have a 96 ranger 212K. I was driving then all the sudden it shut down on me. The check gages light came on just moments before. I had good oil, cooland, gas, and all the fluids were at their proper levels. When I tried starting it it turned and turned over but could not fully start up. Any Idea what the proble is and how much it will cost to fix????? CANADA

  1. Sound like a timing belt or chain. It depends if it blew the head as most ford do if you were driving when it happened. This just happened to me in my supposed non interferience ford engine and it blew the head gasket totalling the car as the repair would have ran me nearly $2,000.

  2. It could be the belt as well as a number of other things. I would say price range between ten dollars upwards to a few thousand, good luck. Hope that helps.
