Mick is always moving the blame when they get beat, the buck stops with him, he has not done such a good job in my opinion and journos go easy on him because they are scared of the backlash from Eddie, the footy show is the same they never get up Collingwood

  1. Yes I think he has passed his time as coach, collingwood deserve a better coach who tells the truth and helps their team to a grand Final, they have a few better options then Mick Malthouse  that they can take up!

  2. I think he has done a good job so far, I mean we have been in finals quite often while he was coaching. He got a team that wasn't 'exceptional' to grand finals two years in a row!

However, I think that sometimes change is good, and maybe if he does leave Collingwood, the team will perform better. Who knows?

All I can say is, he has done a very good job so far for the team.

  3. he hasnt done that bad a job..

but i think he should go..

he has been there long enough and i dont think magpies will win another premiership with him as coach

i think the players are carrying him along

    time 4 a change

  4. Why would Collingwood want to part company with Malthouse?

In '06 Collingwood beat Geelong by 106 points, they lost last year by 16 then 5 in the Prelimiary final.   Again this season Collingwood thrashed Geelong by 86 points.     Malthouse is the only coach in the comp to have beaten the Cats since their Grand Final success last year .   Geelong is the team to beat, the yardstick, and I would have thought a coach that can beat the best in the comp is what you WANT, not dispose of .   He has coached  2 ordinary Collingwood teams in Grand Finals against the comp's best at that time Brisbane, won 2 flags at West Coast, and is coaching Collingwood this season with a number of players out through injury, Like Fraser Rocca Prestigiacomo Lonie Holland Rusling Reid and Egan., and are still in the 8.   Collingwood defeated the previous 2 premiers, Sydney and West Coast  to reach the Preliminary final last year, and apart from his injury list this year, is without Buckley, Clement and Licuria who retired at the end of '07.    I would have thought he is doing a great job, judge him on performance not what he says at press conferences.      Coach's can't totally say at these conferences, what they really feel, take Clarkson (Hawthorn) in hot water for suggesting umpire 17 was a good player.   Press conferences are a bit like feeding the chooks, coach's give little away, but go their because they have to, to apease the AFL who hang out, waiting to fine coach's for saying the wrong thing.    Your timing of this question is also interesting, considering the AFL recently appointed Malthouse as Australian coach , or do you think thats just for the LUCK of the Irish ?

  5. **I think at the end of this year Collingwood might need to have a good look at themselves.

Mick Malthouse is a good coach but I think he's had his time at Collingwood.  He's got them to a couple of Grand Finals, even though they lost but he hasn't really done much lately.

Maybe when his contract is up the Collingwood board will look elsewhere ... who knows, may even end up being Nathan Buckley as the next captain.**

  6. I hate colligwood there like AFL 's fav team malthouse should not be coaching next year!!!

  7. If Eddie gets rid of Mick who is going to be the new coach.

Rogue pointed out that Tony Shaw couldn't handle it (no real experience) and same would, should and could happen if they would bring Nathan Buckley on.

Jock McHale, Phonse Kyne and Bob Rose are not available.

No matter how much you like or dislike Collingwood, Mick is the coach, Eddie is in charge.

If Collingwood makes the finals, I do not want them anywhere near a match up with Geelong. Another Geelong-Collingwood game would concern me. I couldn't even listen to last year's PF on the Internet. I was too nervous and worried. I have watched the DVD. I have it and I am glad I knew Geelong won before I watched it.

  8. he is a great coach but he should leave the pies they are having alright seasons but its time for a change

he should go to the eagles they need a new coach or the deamons

  9. ahh micky malthouse has beeen 1 of the best coaches and will defiantely coach nxt yr(i think he has a contract 4 nxt yr anyway) but in 2010 i can c bucks or bluey mckenna takin ova

  10. i as a collingwood supporter dont think its him to blame but we could do with a new coach LIKE BUCKLEY

  11. How do you come up with these so called opinions..seriously?

No, the buck doesn't stop with Mick - the team played like losers and no amount of coaching would have helped.

What is your "hasnt done such a good job" opinion based on anyways...Can you please provide some legitimate reasons why he hasnt done a good job.

Which footy show & news shows/papers have you been watching/reading mate, Collingwood gets MORE than its fair share of criticism.  Name one other team that is more hated publically than the Pies?

  12. well collingwood are playing top 8 consistantly with Mick

they just need someone else to talk during the press conferences

  13. Mick deserves better.

  14. pies.. suck now
