  1. Poor bugger. Should have been a two-time premiership captain, instead he ends up self-destructing all over the media. He should retire with dignity, cos if he doesnt I think the WCE (probably forced by the AFL) are gonna give him the boot.

  2. Hi Dan, If Ben doesn't retire soon, he will be pushed to retire sooner rather than later. But I really think West Coast is going to sack him and de-list him.

  3. YES!!!

He really needs to get his life in order, but with drugs it's going to take a lot of d**n hard work.

    What a waste of talent.

I only hope he really helps himself this time.

    God Bless Him!!!!

  4. Well, I think he will be "retired" from West Coast now.....as for any future playing with another AFL Club - would anyone want to touch him?  It's headline after headline with Ben.  He'd be better off getting out of football altogether - and away from the drug scene as well.

  5. He should be SACKED.

He is a disgrace and a TERRIBLE 'ROLE MODEL' for children. If WC don't get rid of him now, they would be seen as being irresponsible!

  6. It was time when he got himself addicted to Ice and sent to rehab.  But noooo, WCE wanted to bask in all the praise of saving Ben's career and thus looking like a champion club..

Retire?  Nah the club/sponsors and fans need to give him the flick along with Chick.

WCE need to stand up and use them as an example to young kids of what drugs does to you/family and society.

  7. I think it is before it ends in a disaster like that other West Coast player who died a few weeks ago.

But then again, the AFL is what stops Ben from being on the drugs for most of the time.

When he retires, he wont be out of our lives. He will still be on TV and in a court pleading guilty to drug offenses. It's a sad fact and one we will have to face.

So if he stays in, we wll see him on TV. If he goes out, we will still se him on TV for the wrong reasons.

Sadly in my opinion, no one can change Ben Cousins.

  8. I am inclined to agree with the others, he has to get his act together if he wants to continue.

Maybe a year off to clean himself up, and then taken back for a trial period, to prove himself.

  9. retire??

i think the decision has been made for him after today !!

  10. yes peeps like that shouldnt be a child's idol

  11. I think playing football will be the last thing on Bens' mind right now.

Lets hope he worries about himself first and anything else later!

  12. YES!!!! I am a huge Eagles fan but when you are died lie down

  13. I think this is more politely referred to as 'being retired'.
