  1. Truth is, Labour will most likely lose the next election.

The Labour party won;t elect a new leader who will then lose.  They will most likely let Brown take the failure, then he will immediately resign so a new and un-tarnished leader can step in and make changes for the follwoing election.

  2. alot of mps want brown to go, the public despise him and the party at the moment . The sooner he goes the sooner we can vote someone we want into power.

  3. I saw similar stories in the Guardian a few weeks ago.  Brown might well be asked to leave office if Labour polls continue to flatline but who would want to inherit his mess?

I reckon Labour are stuck with him until the next election; he will be allowed to take the blame for their likely defeat, then a 'new, fresh face' will take over.

  4. he should not be there in the first place

Shows how clever the (we) English are ;when we can't even run our own country ..yet we have the cheek to take the p**s

out of one of the cleverest people in Europe (irish)''

they had the bottle to vote against europe

  5. The truth is!Gordon Brown has damaged the Labour Party almost beyond repair! Some people would argue that the man is 'jinxed'!Others would say that he his just down right incompetent!I would go for the latter!Incompetent! The problem is!World leaders are loath to discuss and agree anything with a 'lame duck' Prime minister!Why/They know Brown does not have the confidence of the majority of the British people and within 2years they will be discussing the very same issues with a new British leader!

  6. A lot of problems are world wide and he inherited Teflon Tony's unravelling mess (he certainly knew when to go!), but GB can be blamed for grabbing our cash (pension funds, indirect taxation, gold sold etc etc etc etc).

Having done this nothing is saved by him for the bad times.  He appears indecisive and has likened himself to Heathcliff!

So yes, time to go, but who will want the floundering Party?

  7. It appears that history is repeating itself. The last time round though it was the conservatives - Maggie vs Boring John this time its Teflon Tony vs Dowdy Gordon. The party will possibly get rid of Gordon to show that they are on the side of the people. Unfortunately this is not going to save the ratings of the labour party at this stage (as it didn't help with the conservatives). The thing is the populace is really cheesed off with the way things are going, wouldn't be surprised if the green party - or the "no sleep" party ends up winning the election.
