Question:

Is it time for Ferrari to be concerned?

I think it is time to be very worried. Hamilton wins German GP and Kimi looked miles off the pace. Hamilton can easily win the next two races, which are Hungary and European GP at Valencia.

Both tracks should suit his Mclaren. Hamilton could have a sizable lead after after the next two races. The championship I think is slipping away from Ferrari.

  1. It's could very well be too late to start to worry now, they should have worried much earlier when they clearly had the fastest car for race pace and couldn't put it to good use often enough.

I'm sure they've been trying hard but they seem to have thrown their advantage away.

What is most worrying is Raikkonen saying they need to study the situation very carefully to try to determine whether they have gone down the wrong road in terms of developing and setting up their car, if that's true they're in trouble.

  2. As long as both Ferrari drivers are picking up points, it won't be a disaster. Massa has always had a weak European F1 mid-season, but he's coping with it better this year than last. Hamilton has proved he is quite capable of going from brilliance to stupidity and back again, and with the current scoring system Hamilton could win the next 2 races then have one bad race out of the points and the Ferraris would be right back with him again - as long as they picked up points in all the races. Getting a sizeable championship lead in these times involves your competitors not finishing in the points...which happens pretty rarely with the ultra-reliable cars of today, it needs a driver error really.

  3. They ought to be feeling the heat. They've been making unacceptable mistakes lately. Putting the wrong tyres for Kimi way too late before the start, causing him a penalty a few races ago. Having to queue their cars... etc. For a team that has run very smoothly things seem to be falling apart slightly.

  4. Hmmm looks like it doesn't it? from the first race this season, Felipe no points both races, Kimi out on the first race due to engine problems. and then they may a comeback and then make little silly mistakes and then off the pace. As Gatorade said they Ferrari shouldn't underestimate Other teams, who knows if BMW make a comeback? Or Renault have the luck on their side again. They need to hang on to this championship. i personally thought that Kimi would be way into it, but hes clinging on.

  5. ferrari should be walkin away w/ the championship now especially w/ how much better their race pace was early on in the season. i think the last two weekends were bad for them. but i agree w/ u, they do this the next two rounds and it might be hard for them to win this yr. however, most of the tracks after the next two rounds are more suitable for ferrari

  6. .

    I think so.

Felipe has shown a clean pair of heels to a lack-lustre Kimi and Lewis showed Felipe who is the more assertive, dominant force when side by side - this race will not soon be forgotten by either driver.

  7. I think maybe they should. Also McLaren must not get complacent. if they do BMW could come through and worry the pair of them!!!

    Nice answer Gatorade:)

  8. I was worried early on in the season when they made silly mistakes like not having the wheels on before that one race and various other pitlane mistakes and decision making errors.  For any other team it would be ok but it's unacceptable for a team like Ferrari who are fighting for the championship who really should be in better form at this point in the season and they should not underestimate their rivals on the grid.

Maybe the Italians should consider bringing back a certain Frenchman into their management team because they clearly aren't doing so well without him.

  9. Not yet, come Belgian GP, Kimis favourite and the Ferrari duo are sitll giving it eight tenths, then a kick up the @ss will be required. They are like Irvine and Salo in 1999, waitng for sucess to fall on to their lap, though Felipe and Raikkonen are capable of much more.
