CNN correspondent Jessica Yellin said Thursday she was referring to her time spent at MSNBC when she reporters were under enormous pressure by news executives to be patriotic.

Yellin's initial comments, made during a discussion with Anderson Cooper on CNN Wednesday, shifted attention to the news media's performance following release of a critical assessment of the Bush administration by former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan. He wrote that Bush's strategy for selling the war was less than candid and honest.

Would you want to hear true analysis from news reporters and not what they were told to say?

  1. "Would you want to hear true analysis from news reporters"

    No.

I want to hear facts, and not just those supporting one point of view.  No analysis.  It's not their job to tell me what to think, no matter how much they think it is.

  2. Just follow the money.  They are shills for whomever pays the most.  If McClellan was such an upstanding guy why didn't he speak up sooner.  Because there would have not been a big payday.
