Ryan Franklin blew ANOTHER SAVE tonight and I am mad out of mind. How are the cards supposed to keep up with the brewers/cubs if "there closer" aka izzy or franklin keep blowing saves. Should the cards trade for the rockies closer, send wainwright back to the bullpen, or is there some saviour just waiting in memphis?

  2. 2 points?

  3. I think it was time about a month ago. I don't know why La Russa hasn't tried putting Springer in the closer's role yet. Tony is reluctant to admit he was wrong too. Just about anybody in Memphis would help somewhat with the bullpen, but I don't think they would be more successfull than Izzy or Franklin at this point.

  4. Franklin was here (Philly) for half a season and that was too long. If the Cardinals really want to contend this year they should try and make a move, I think Huston Street is available, maybe the Braves will let go of Soriano, George Sherill in Baltimore, and possible Joakim Soria in KC have also been rumored to be available.

The Cardinals have a better record than the division leaders of the other two divisions, so they might as well go for at least a wild card and make a move.

  5. Let me start off by saying sending wainright to the bullpen is the stupidest move the cardinals could make, i would never forgive them.  He is their best starter when healthy and is still learning how to come out of the closer role.  He has cy young potential and i would be crazy mad if they took away his starter role.  Franklin, Izzy, and McClellan are just not reliable right now.  And since Russ Springer says he isnt comforitable closing, were stuck with those 3 in the 8th and 9th innings.  I dont think theres anything to save us in memphis.  A trade would be great, but i dont want the cardinals getting rid of their future by trading away prospects.  The cubs and brewers are willing to do it because they are losing many players and consider this their one chance, the cardinals shouldnt be so foolish.

Its a tough situation, so im leaving it to Tony Larussa and the GM XD

  6. They are rumored to be in the running for Fuentes. I'm sure they will find a reliever at the deadline. They won't make it far without someone to be a reliable closer.
