Is it time for the human race to end

maybe we're getting obsolete and mundane like dinosaurs. is it time for a new generation of intelligence to emerge? the best we, as a whole, seem to be able to contribute is a bunch of new dipshits anyway.

Dinosaurs didn't die out because they got "obsolete and mundane" but because of a huge meteor that hit the Earth (causing many groups to die out, not just dinosaurs).

There's nothing that says that there always needs to be a "new generation of intelligence" so if we did die out, there's no reason to assume that there's be something big-brained like us "taking our place" so to speak.

What there IS, though, is technology, which is becoming increasingly "intelligent." Some have proposed that it will eventually become self-aware.

I disagree that all humans are dipshits. Simply not true.

Firstly, the dinosaurs did not become obsolete, they got hit by a giant comet... And no, humans are constantly expanding their intelligence to cater for new environmental conditions. The few of us who are shitheads and letting the world down for us need to be rounded up and shipped to some random island where they can create what they see as their own perfect world

Well today it seems like the ugliest and least intelligent poeple have the most kids. It also seems like Capitalism and the mass media has created an entire generation of dumbdowned automatrons who fear EVERYTHING, from pedophiles, the devil, terrorists, gang members etc. etc... Finally you have people who've become so embracing of mass consumption that they've lost empathy for their fellow man...I'd say we're on our way to our own extinction, or at least the evolution of our species to a higher state of human..It won't happen though untill we've run our society into the ground and out of the ruins rises a new kind of man who will usher in a new kind of society....

Humans as we know it may one day end, maybe sooner than later.  This is mostly due to the advances in genetics, robotics, and other technologies that may change our physical bodies.  In some decades or centuries, it may be possible to change the human being into a being that is nothing similar to what we are right now.  It may evolve exponentially.  Less diseases, longer lives, enhanced senses and/or extra abilities, stronger bodies, more intelligent, and so on.

The human race will not end, unless there is a disaster that causes this, but we will evolve drastically into something that is far more developed than what we currently are.
