  1. With what military force? Pretty much all the US soldiers are in Afghanistan or Iraq already.

  2. Its absolutely not worth it, specially when it was the overconfident Georgians that started the invasion. International law is on the side of the Russians on this one and because of this, there would be no world support for any opposition.

  3. I wonder what Russia would have done if a problem of a similar nature would have happened in an ex Soviet Union country which is now in NATO.

  4. indeed, appeasement can only make it worst like ww2, possible world war guyz

  5. Are you gonna join the military and go over there and fight them?If not then you need to stfu. How about we mind our own business...

  6. What law?

  7. What law?. Maybe you are referring to GW Bush's Law of Hypocrisy:

"What the US does is always right. But when the same thing is done by others, its wrong".

I just can't stop laughing when Bush made a statement criticizing Russia for its "dis-proportionate" military response to Georgia. Finally, the mad-man learned what the word dis-proportionate means. Russia's military action in Georgia is nothing compared to Bush's "Shock and Awe" bombardment of Iraq, and yet Bush never dared to call his own actions dis-proportionate. At one time, he even spoke to defend Israel's actions when Israel heavily bombed Lebanon's cities (airports, bridges, hotels, oil-storage depots, and villages) in response to Hezbollah's kidnapping of two Israeli soldiers. But he never dared to mention dis-proportionate on those actions. Well... well... What more can I say to all this hypocrisy?.

  8. This war is quite confusing, why can't they talk instead of fight.!

    MAKE LOVE NOT WAR!

  9. YES Russia has no right in Georgia the sooner we get them out the beater

  10. Oh yeah! What the world needs is a nuclear war! Just what the world needs.

  11. Lay down the Law with yourselves first! Exploiters of the Planet

  12. nukes are NEVER the answer, lets not try that, cause that would start a whole meltdown of the world and I'd rather outlive the cockroaches if that's okay with you.

try not to make yourself sound like such an ignorant person by saying "NUKE THE b******s!"

  13. Wiith Barack Hussein Obama in there, it would be the worst scenario. He's incompetent in dealing with the real bad guys.

  14. 1.There 'll be NO NUCLEAR WAR! If it is, it'll be the last stage of world's idiocy!

2.TECHNOTOPIAN is right about the disinformation from both sides.

You don't know what is really going on.

A treaty was signed between Russia and Ossetia about 10 years ago, that in case of such situation, Russia will help, because about 70,000 people out of 80,000 in Ossetia have double pasports: russian and georgian. So this situation wasn't hard to predict.

Nowbody needs this war.  And Russia 1st of all.

  15. Things wont goto far with russia. They need the west as much as we need their gas.

  16. If you go to war sporting your 'cameltoe', victory would be yours. What chance Putin!

  17. If the |US have some issues with the Russians they should sort it out themselves,we are fed up of fighting your pathetic wars.I can't believe that the American people elected such a numbskull as their president. The sooner he goes the better.

  18. Once these bombs fall from the sky that's it game over for everyone!

  19. Well, we are far from battles here. The only source of information is mass-media. And both russian and US mass-media are obviously lying.

Information (or disinformation) is a mighty weapon now.

So first we need a source neutral enough.

    IMHO Guardian is good one:

Article blaming russian bombing of Gori

       http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/aug...

    Article about osetian refugees:

       http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/aug...

They are showing war from both sides. Thats good. I've tried to reconstruct puzzle. I assume both sides are nor good, nor stupid. Both  have their plans and schemes.

So smoldering feud (and provocations by both sides) was neverending since osetian war for independence in 1992. Osetia - constant source of trouble for Georgia, and Georgia being constant menace for rebels. And suddenly after very expensive gerogian armed force buffing program and right before olympics osetian provocations become stronger, so Saakashvili is forced to well ... use rocket artillery against rebel capital ant by the way kill russian peace-keepers. To enforce peace and stability off course. By the coincidence this happens right in the night of olympics-opening ceremony.

Isn't this too much for a coincidence? Yes. It is a very smart and cunning plan! Look:

During night georgian army is storming Tskhinali, when resistance is suppressed, advances to the Rok tunnel (the only route between Osetia and Russia). Destroying tunnel effectively cuts Russia off. Mountains are impassable and georgian anti-aircraft power is impressive enough to thwart any attempt of air-drop. In the meantime olympics distract worlds attention and friendly US mass media just erhm overlooks little war.

Russia simply has no time for reaction before it is too late. Political decision takes time, say until morning. Some time for mobilizing forces (3-4 hours at least), and after that long road from bases towards snowy mountain pass. Thats another 16-20 hours.

There is one mistake: this plan is too good, to be overlooked by russians (remember: nor good, nor stupid!). I'm sure, russians had some intelligence data about those preparations. And amassing of georgian forces was very clear, there were even articles in press about that...

So there is a counter plan. Relocate fore-squads of 58th army toward the Rok in deep secret. Prepare the jets (fuel, armament, pilots), prepare a diplomatic note for a Security Council of U.N.

Putin flies to Beijing (plays fool). Calm on diplomatic channels.

Saakashvili has given a casus belli. Unique opportunity to invade his country and overthrow him, capture the vital gap between  Russia and Iran, sweet opportunity for avenging the Kosovo.

War is a cruel game. Osetians and georgians pay for ambitions of two

    warmongers.

  20. America, Great Britain and some other European country's would be able to take Russia on there own (just russia against 1 country)

However, Russia's Military are very secret, so it could all end in sadness - If  America and all of the EU (Great Britan, France, ect) joined forces, Russia wouldn't have a chance and stop attacking Gorgia

  21. if they throw the first punch then i say h**l yea

  22. I think you should get in the real world. What F****n planet are you on? My father can fight your father etc etc blah blah.

So from yoru statement above, you're 15 years old - well when you've had to face the horror and atrocity of war, maybe your under-developed mind will change.

The USA can't even sort out their mess against a bunch of bedouin sheep-herders, let alone a nuclear-armed superpower with a bigger army and equal technology.

The Russians are defending the 70,000 or so Russian citizens in South Ossetia - Georgia is to blame. (and by the way, that's not Georgia in the USA, just in case you were wondering)

Some folk are just so stupid

  23. What law?  Our troops and materiel are spread thin in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Where is all the manpower and resources going to come from?  How many wars can we fight simultaneously?

  24. Violence is always the solution.  Thank you for your support of WWIII.

    Sincerely,

    Satan and his corporate lackeys
