  1. not at all.

if you're truly passionate about it, do it.

  2. I hate to be negative and the bearer of bad news, but the odds of you being Olympic-ready in 2 years is highly unlikely.  Normally, I tell skaters who may be starting out later in life (cuz I did too) that anything is possible, but in 2 years, even if you skated everyday, is probably not going to happen.  :(  Give yourself some time!  Is it totally out of the relm of possibilities that you could go sometime in the future? No.  But 2 years is not enough time to train for such an elite competition as the Olympics.  I know it looks like a lot of fun, it's glamourous and many of us have dreamed about it, but it is a very difficult goal to achieve.  To even be eligible for the Olympics, you would have to pass all of your skating tests....depending on where you live for example, in the USFSA, you'd have to pass all 8 moves in the field tests and all 8 freestyle tests.  You would need solid, consistent triple jumps, jump combinations, spin combinations, footwork and if you're lucky, maybe even a quad.  As much as many skaters work hard and would really really like to be doing triple jumps, it's a very hard goal to reach.  The majority of skaters never get to triple jumps, much less the Olympics.  The percentage of skaters who are talented enough to compete in the Olympics is unfortunately very very tiny.

But....don't let that stop you from skating hard and continuing on.  A lot of us started out dreaming about going to the Olympics, but are still pluggin' along.  Get a coach, start working on more advanced stuff and give it a shot.  Who knows -- you may not go in 2 years, but 10 wouldn't be out of the question.  And yes, you can be 24 and still skate in the Olympics!  Good luck!

  3. Your deff. not to old to skate, but I think you are to old for the Olympics, but maybe not. If you really want to be an Olympic skater, you would have to practice every day, before and after school, and it would be a TON of money. Good luck. : ]

  4. not at all! im the same way as u! i just started lessons about two or three months ago and am in freestyle 3. if u r willing to work hard you can make it. my dream is also to go to the olympics. maybe we'll see each other there! maybe we could even keep in touch with our progress or somethin!

  5. no not really but if you really want to get you mat need a coach

there looking for the best though so you really got to work your but off

  6. It's not too late but I think the 2010 Olympics might be an unrealistic goal at this stage. BUT I believe you will have a strong chance at the 2014 Olympics or anytime after that if you being NOW to start working HARD.

  7. If its your dream I say..go for it!! You don't want to grow up and regret not taking the chance. Best of luck to you!!!!!

  8. no way

  9. no way! ur never 2 old.  im 14 almost 15 and thats WAY better than what i can do. lols =) so go ahead!
