Is it to late into the summer to get a job (age 16, area nyc)?

I want to do something this summer. I want a job (preferably in manhattan) where I can make friends. All I do in the summer vacation is stay at home, and exercize. I need something to do.

I don't think it's ever too late.  You seem to have the want to, so check it out.   A job at Wal-mart, McDonald's, anything.
