  1. I agree with Brandnew it's never to late.Lifes to short, go and become a pilot.

  2. It's too late to plan for a career as a professional pilot with the major airlines or a top-drawer corporate aviation department.  I'm sorry, but that's just the truth.

But it's not too late to become a private pilot and enjoy the spiritual benefits of flying for fun.  It's not too late to get your commercial, instrument, and instructor ratings, and make a career (or a part-time career) of flying charter, air cargo, or instruction.

There are still many great things you can do with your love of flying.  But go ahead and go for it, now!

  3. IT's never too late, go for it!

  4. Never, Good Luck and have fun.

  5. No, of course it's not too late. You can still have a long and interesting career, though the major airlines generally do not hire older pilots, and those that they do hire over the age of 40 usually have a lot of experience behind them or are ex-military. If you can get trained quickly, can follow that up with a good time-building job with a commuter or regional airline, then 5 or so years from now you might have the credentials to get on with a national airline. If you don't, there are still a lot of other flying opportunities, though the pay and benefits are usually not anywhere near as good, and starting pay in any flying job is downright p*** poor.

And don't go to Embry-Riddle (as suggested above) or any other expensive university flying program, it'll be a waste of your time and money unless you have several years to put into it and $100k saved up.

  6. you can eigther go for a degree from a school like Western Michigan...

    or

I can't quite remember the nam of the place

    but there's a school/program in florida that's a 7 month course

It's fairly expensive.. but if you can afford it.. it's a good investmant...

you could make alot of money... of course that's just the comercial aspect...

many, and even smaller local airports have trained instructors and can get you on the right path to getting a recreational Pilots license.... flying is for all ages.. My brother got his rec license at 17 and one of the people who got him started and is still an active pilot.. is in his 60's

  7. No, it is not too late.  But pick out a good school.  Someplace like Embry Riddle.  There are several really good schools around the country.  Don't just pick out a school because some advertisement told you it was good.  Ask former students.  If a school won't give you names of former students.  LOOK ELSEWHERE.  They are lying to you.  Do your homework before you pay your money down.
