My little girl's name is Kenity Alexandria. I love the name Kennedy and I wanted to spell it different so I spelled it Kenity, but a lot of people keep saying Kenity is a boy name. What do you think? Will she get made fun of in school because of her name?

  1. I don't really like Kennedy.  If you're looking for feminine K names:

    Kaylee Alexandria

    Karly Alexandria

    Kellie Alexandria

    Kimmy/Kim Alexandria (NOT KIMBERLEY!)

    Kira Alexandria

    Karrie Alexandria

    Kara Alexandria

I like Alexandria, though.  VERY pretty as a middle name:)  Good luck and congrats on your baby:)  Bye! x*x

P.S. It's YOUR choice what you name her, everyone on here is gonna have different opinions anyway, but what matters is yours.

  2. i really hate mispellings for names, i think they're tacky.

    I prefer Kennedy to Kenity.

I know a boy named Kennedy - but I can see how it could be a very trendy girls name. Not sure how pretty it is though...? She certainly won't get made fun of for being named Kennedy (I don't think children ever get made fun of just for their names - unless they're named Chicken or something - they get teased for their personalities) and I think quite a few people will probably say 'oh what a cool name' and stuff like that - so if it's the kind of thing you like then it's great - but personally I prefer more feminine pretty names.

  3. I love Kennedy for a girl! In my opinion, a *boy* would be more likely to get teased with that name becasue it's used so much on girls.

Also, I love the spelling you used! And usually I don't like different spellings, but that one seems really pretty and feminine.

    Good luck!

  4. I personally think Kenity a very pretty name, but if she doesn't like it, she can always use her middle name.

  5. i like it better Kennedy by far !

    Kenity is so masculine.

  6. Kennedy is a surname, making it masculine and better on boys. And the fact that you've gave her such a horrid spelling, is only going to cause further problems. Not to mention, Kennedy means "Ugly head".

    Poor kid.

  7. I don't know about sounding boyish, but in my opinion it just doesn't sound nice at all. I really hope she doesn't, but I think there is a strong possibility that she may get teased at school. Sorry.

  8. Who cares what people say

IF you love the name, then it's prefect

  9. I aggree with the girl that said you should shouldnt pronouce it the same

and no I don't think she will be picked on

  10. i think its cute. and no! she wont get made fun of. Think of all the crazy names mommys are coming up with :) They will have someone else to pick on, if at all!

  11. Well I know more girls named Kennedy then boys.

  12. honestly i really don't like it sorry!

kennedy is a much better sur name and in my opinion is not a boy or girls name at all.

changing the spelling only makes it worse it looks like a completely made up name that would be said as  ken-- it--- ee

you could change it if you wanted to as she is so young to

Kendra Alexandria that's not so bad.

i know a couple of young ladies with this name and it is unique without being weird, good luck.

please do not be offended when some one is honest with you.i guarantee children are much crueler and honest than adults ever dare to be.good luck with your baby.

  13. I love Kennedy for a girl name, I like it the way it is.

    It's not to boyish.

It's on my list for a girl!

  14. Kenitie sounds more female.

Kenitty - double ts make it more femme

    Caniti

    Caenitti

    Canetie

  15. I really really don't care for it. If you like the name Kennedy, you should have used Kennedy. You've paired it with a very pretty and feminine name, so while I find Kennedy very masculine, the balance makes it work.

As for the getting made fun of in school? I'm sorry, I have a burning hatred for misspelled names, so I find Kenity absurd looking at best. She won't get made fun of in school, hopefully. I have a feeling her teachers will make fun of you for not knowing how to spell Kennedy properly. It's a common name, and spelling it wrong just sets her up for a lifetime of confusion. Looking at her name, you don't even think it's Kennedy at a first glance. It's a nonintuitive spelling, so people are going to give her the RCA Victor dog look when they see her name. If I was going to worry about anything, I would worry that you've doomed your daughter to having to say "I'm Kenity that's K-E-N-I-T-Y"

  16. I ♥ Kennedy for a girl but I prefer it spelt Kenadie.

    I think

    Kennedy = boy

    Kenadie = girl

Honestly I wouldn't pronounce your child's name like Kennedy. If i was a teacher reading down my roster, I would pronounce it Ken-ah-tee (T sound, not a D sound).

EDIT: Looks like the thumbs down fairies are at it again.

  17. I think of Kennedy as being more of a girl's name and especially the way you spelled it gave it more of a feminine touch.
