I would LOOOOOVE to work on a cruise line for fall 2008. Is it too early to apply for a job? Also..i'm 18 years old, and don't have a college degree..I would want to work as a waitress..am I not qualified? How do I start the application process? I have a SUPER outgoing personality, a hardworker, and love working with people..do you think that if I presented this kind of attitude in my interview, they would consider me?

Thanks..sorry about all the questions!

  1. You need to check with the cruise lines.  Some will have new ships coming out this year and next and they may start their hiring processes very early.  Contact each cruise line on their web site. Each web site has a link for jobs or employment and some have a link to the jobs they are currently hiring for..

    The luxury cruise lines are:

    REGENT SEVEN SEAS:

    RADISSON:

    SILVER SEAS:

    CRYSTAL:

Other cruise lines that most people go on:

    CUNARD:

    HOLLAND AMERICA

  2. Good Luck but I would stay away from CARNIVAL as they Suck and have made a lot of people very unhappy.

    CARNIVAL SUCKS

  3. For most cruise lines you are required to be 21 to work unless your an actor/dancer/singer. But as for the college degree i'm pretty sure you don't need one for a waitress but you will need expirence!!! That is a key issue! Royal Caribbean is a GREAT company to work for and having an outgoing personalitiy will get you far in the cruise industry although expirence is needed. Check our Royal Caribbean's website and find where it talks about careers....or any cruise website for that matter i'm sure most of them are pretty good i just have never did anything but royal caribbean! And as for asking questions....isn't that what this websites for??....its completely fine we're all here to help eachother! Hope you get a job! As for being to early for applying you can get recruited anywhere from 1 week to 6 months so its just pretty much based on availbility so you should be ready to leave in a week before you apply just in case! hope i helped have fun!

  4. Working on the cruise lines is great fun but really hard work. You sound like a bubbly person. Do you like kids? If so, maybe you could try out for Youth Activities (you run the kids clubs).

Have a look at www.dcljobs.com. It's for Disney Cruise Lines. They are recruiting all the time because peoples contracts end at different times.

DCL cruises round the Carribean. The Disney Wonder stops at Nassau and Disney's private island Castaway Cay. The other ship, The Disney Magic, has longer cruises.

    Good luck!
