I would have to say that it is too early, all that it would take is for Kyle Bush to wreck out of a race or have a couple of bad finishes and then it will be a close race to the finish. I wouldnt count any of the top 12 until the last checkered flies.

Yes it is because when it comes down to the chase everything changes.

I would love to see Junior pull it out this year. But my guess would be Jimmie Johnson.

it's way too early. we don't even know who will make/miss the chase. right now the favorites remain carl, kyle, jr. and jimmie

Way too early.  There are some drivers that you have to put up there as favorites right now but anything can happen those last 10 races and the driver that comes through it with the least amount of problems and bad luck will end up as the 2008 champion.  Personally, I think the frontrunners right now are Kyle, Carl and Jimmie but that could easily change.  I've got to go with the back to back champ!

Yes, it is still too early. I would assume that the top 5 people in the standing now will probably be guarenteed a spot in the chase. As far as the rest of them, it will probably go down to the last race for the chase. In my opinion and not because he is my fav driver, i think Jimmie will get his 3rd straight championship. Kyle will defintely give him a run for his money though. So JImmie is my pick, if not, Kyle.

Yes it's way way too early. Have to wait until the Chase for the Sprint Cup starts in Sept.! But if I had to pick, I have 3 picks actually ( but remember, anything can happen ). Mine are:

1. I'm not too keen on this one, but again, like I said, anything can happen, my 1st pick is Clint Bowyer. Reason is, despite the fact that Clint hasn't had a great year this year, he has been, I wouldn't want to say very consistent, but has been consistent imo. I mean look what happened last year, during the Chase, he finished 3rd in points! A big contrast to 2006, when he only finished 17th in points. Big contrast imo. But anyways, that's why I say Clint Bowyer.

My 2nd pick is Dale Jr. Do I really need to get into details? Sorry about that!

My 3rd pick is Jimmie Johnson. He could do a 3rd Cup Championship, and not to mention, it'd be his 3rd year in a row for a championship.

It is way too early. My pick right now would be Jimmie. I also think Kyle has a good chance. Although, I would love nothing more than for Jeff Gordon to get it.

Majority say Kyle Busch.  However I think he's gonna slow down a bit with the constant wins.  He has a history of driving so hard he wrecks.  We haven't seen it much this year but his agressiveness could be his downfall.  All it takes is a couple back of the pack finishes to take you out of the running and unfortunately I think this is gonna happen to him.

Now personally I'd like to see Denny Hamlin win it but odds are thats not gonna happen.  

Reality I think it will come down to Jeff Burton and Carl Edwards just because of the consistency they have shown.  Edge going to Carl Edwards.

It is too early to say who is going to win, mainly because there are still some good drivers outside the top 12 that can still get in.  

If I had to pick right now who the champion is going to be, I would have to say Kyle Busch. He's a good driver and nobody can say that luck is not on his side right now. However all 3 of the Hendrick cars are figuring out things about the COT and any of those 3 drivers could be there at the end. I have a feeling this years chase is going to be way better than the rest!

Yes, they reset the top twelve's points with 10 races to go. I think Busch can win it if he can carry this same momentum into the Chase. Momentum can change quick too though.

Of course it's too early.  Obviously Kyle Busch has the advantage, and if the Chase began today, he would start with a 40 point lead, and every point is valuable.  If Kyle can get at least 10 wins before the Chase and no one else gets to 5 wins, then he's got the advantage.

For now, I'm going to pick Kyle, but Carl and Jimmie have pretty good chances here.

Well Kyle Busch is my favorite and has a good chance of winning but I think Jimmie will have a good chance of taking his third championship. so it should be a good battle

If you want to know who's going to win the 2008 Championship, call the NASCAR officials and ask them how many more "changes" are going to be made before the Chase starts and after the Chase starts.

I would like for Junior to win, but I think it will be between Carl, Jimmie and Jeff. I think NASCAR will find a way to keep Kyle from winning it all. (Not that it would upset me for him to not win, he's not exactly my favorite driver! Although so far he's deserving of some type of cajones award. LOL)

It is too early still. Well the usual drivers like Jimmie, Jeff Gordon, Tony, Matt plus add in Kyle and any one else who is on a roll heading into the chase. I am just looking forward to seeing a tight points race. It should be fun to watch even though my driver is well outside the top 12.

My pick is Jimmie Johnson or Kyle Busch...but after the reset of points anything can happen....yes Kyle will have a slight advantage but 1 bad race can shake up the system quickly..just look at the point shakeup last week..
