Question:

Is it too early to tell if I'm pregnant?

I started my period on July 25th for about 5 days and have been sexually active with my fiance since then. It's August 26th and for the past week I've had really bad cramping, lower back and side pains, upset stomach/bad indigestion, been extremely hungry and I still haven't gotten my period. I've taken 2 pregnancy tests and both came back negative. Any advice anyone could give would be greatly appreciated!

  1. tests wont show a positive result until you are 4 weeks on even though they claim to give accurate readings. it is possible to make yourself late just by thinking you are pregnant.

sounds to me like your actually about to come on as i think its too early for you to be getting pregnancy pains.

  2. It's too early for any symptoms of pregnancy other than a missed period.  If you are trying to conceive and watching for signs, then you notice all sorts of things that you often get anyway but are too busy to notice normally.

Pregnancy tests are accurate from the day the period is due, so you can believe the results of yours - you are not pregnant.  However, sometimes the cycle is thrown out a little and ovulation and conception take place a little later than expected.  My advice is to wait another week and then if there is still no period, test again, and believe the result.

If you really want advice, then here is my input, for what it's worth.  My children are now 10 yrs and 13 yrs old.  But I can still remember the time when I was doing everything I could to get pregnant for the first time. It took over more than it should have done.  I did too many tests and set myself up for disappointment and tried to interpret every slight feeling of queasiness as morning sickness.  Unfortunately I went on to suffer horrible sickness with both pregnancies and learned that you can't possibly mistake it if you are unlucky enough to get it.  I found myself rushing into town during my lunch break and reading pregnancy books, trying to find something that would suggest I had succeeded this month.  For 11 months Iived like that, and looking back on it, I realised what a waste of time it was.

My advice is not to waste money and set yourself up for disappointment by testing all the time.  Put it to the back of your mind until your period is at least a week late, then test.  Fill your life with other things to stop you dwelling on pregnancy and take the chance to do all the things you may not be able to do if you have a tough pregnancy and all the things that will be harder to do with a baby.  Concentrate on having s*x as often as possible starting from about 2 days after the end of your period and finishing a few days before it's due, without trying to pinpoint the fertile time.  I succeeded the first month when I stopped trying to be precise, and using the same method, conceived the first month of trying for the second baby.

    Good luck.

  3. if you tested is negative means you dont be scare ok be happy

  4. those HPTs arent always accurate.. i suggest you go to the doctors and get a blood test done...

  5. Wait a few days, take another test. If it is still negative and you still have no period call your doctor! I had a negative test and then a week later had a positive one with my son!

  6. You probably are pregnant but go to the doctors and ask or leave it for a few weeks and try another test.

  7. The best advice I could give you is to go to the doctor..Either its to soon for the home tests to be accurate or you are just late..You can wait a day or two--try a test again or call your obgyn and take a test there..GL and I hope this helps

  8. symptoms of pregnancy are there i would take another test 3 days after your last one if still negative go to your doctor and maybe get a blood test done

  9. Mmm you have to go to a doctor... I know of my gf who sometimes misses her period for a whole 2 months without being pregnant at all. So it is really up to the mind. And yes go to a doctor.
