Question:

Is it too far to go to St. Jacobs Farmers Market from Detroit and come back at night?

My concern is that in crossing the border from Detroit to Windsor, I will have to explain to Canadian customs the purpose of my trip and when I'm leaving.

I can easily make the trip to St. Jacobs, 4 hours into Ontario, but what's the best way to explain it to Canadian customs? I once got refused entry because the customs official did not think my itinerary was feasible.

What should I bring and what should I say?

  1. you'd be pretty tired by the time you got home but yea you could make it. it would be about 4 hours on the road and time for the border crossing but why would you want to go? you can't bring any meats or veggies or foodstuffs over the border with you. you can't even eat a hamburger crossing the border. it is a farmers market so take that away and you just have the same c**p left that you can buy in the states.(not that we don't appreciate your tourist dollars).
