I broke the fingers on my right hand.  I asked the doctor if  I could play the piano after the fingers healed.

He said yes.

I said great, because I could never play before!  Remember Groucho.

I think that if you want to skate, go ahead.  Set your goals and work toward them.

Will you ever compete in the Olympics?  I think not but you skate for you, not for others.

To compete on a high level, you probably should have started earlier

almost everyone is going to tell you its never too late....take the advice.

If you love it and it is in your heart, DO it no matter what!

i promise you, you will regret it if you don't.

Use it to your advantage and enjoy figure skating <3

if ur a quick learner then maybe not, i figure skated when i was little, i dont anymore but if i ever wanted  to again i still know how :)...i think

Many sports are better for a person if they start young, but it doesnt matter - go for it :)

Well they say it's never to late if you really try. However, most of the really good athletes start out much, much younger than 16

professionally, yes, unless you have some serious skill. most of the skaters you see on tv may be just 13 or 14 but have been working on this full time since they could stand.

No.  You still can certainly learn to figure skate.  There are lessons available for all ages and ranges of abilities.  It is, however, too late to expect to become an Olympic figure skater.
