Is it too late to fill out a fafsa for the 2008-2009 year?

It is probably too late to get much in the way of grants, but it does depend on your school.  Some schools will accept the fafsa this late, and some will even let you appeal if your financial situation has changed in the last few months requiring you to apply so late.  It is definitely worth a shot; an hour of your time could mean money for school.

as a former financial aid counselor, the answer is no, it's not too late, but I would get the forms sent in on-line and no later than the end of June. They will tell you that July 8th or so is fine, but unless you know for certain that your state will have plenty of money, I wouldn't wait. Some states run out and for those students that waited until the last minute, they are stuck with loan options only. make sure you have all your tax returns, and your parents returns handy if appropriate, code in the schools you want to receive the report and get it started. One less thing to worry about huh?
