  1. surfs up, dude! i wanna learn this summer too!!!

  2. lol  if you wanna surf then go out and surf

  3. Its never too late. You don't have to be a pro to truly enjoy surfing.

  4. there are so many surf schools now, 18 is fine, 50 is fine.  just keep the soul!

  5. 18 is a great age to start, you are often fairly co-ordinated. There are not many people that surf like pros as they are almost inhuman but there are a lot of great surfers.

Give it a go, it is a great past time, I have been doing it for years. Only a surfer knows the feeling. plus it is great for the fitness

  6. Surfing has no age limit, theres no requirements to ride all, it takes years and dedication to get that good but once you get there its the best feeling on earth knowing you spent all that time progressing in something you love to do, just go out there and feel the glide, have fun with it play around if you take it to seriously and get frustrated than surfing isnt the best thing for you

  7. do what you live for

if you wanna do something just do it

don't let anything hold you back not even age!!!

just go do it and have fun :D:D

  8. You're not too old!  The great thing about being young and learning to surf is you have a much lower center of gravity so it's easier to stand up and balance.  Also, you have no fear, so you paddle into just about anything, BONSAI!!

But if you're athletic and a good swimmer and you've got decent balance, it shouldn't be THAT hard to learn.

It's never too late.  I learned late, probably right around your age.  And I've been surfing for 8 years now and LOVING it!

I'm still jealous of all those little kids out there.  I totally wish I had started that young.

It's best if you have someone out there who knows what they're doing and they take the time to show you the ropes and give you personalized pointers and tips (maybe even push you into a wave or two).

Also, make sure you're going to the right waves (not Pipeline or Waimea...think San Onofre or Waikiki or Cowells) and on the right board (I always suggest an 8 or 9 footer for your first board...not TOO big, not TOO small).

    Have Fun!

  9. There is no too old to start surfing.  I was 23...

  10. I think you're nuts! lol. You are in no way too old to learn, you're never too old to learn something that interests you. Definitely go for it because its a whole lot of fun. Once you start you're going to kick yourself for even thinking twice about it. Enjoy!!

  11. Your age is fine to learn how to surf.  You might not make the pro tour, but, depending on how hard you practice, in a few years you might even be able to compete.  In the 60s, most people didn't even start until they graduated from high school.  Now days, the average age of learners in my surf school (and many others in this area) is mid-20s, and most are females.  The oldest person I had take a lesson last year was 51 and she surfs all the time now.

  12. its never too late
