Question:

Is it too late to pursue my dream as an actress?

I'm 14-years-old and I want to become an actress. Now, I don't want to be one of those "Disney stars" that you see on Disney Channel - I want to be one of those actresses that will be remembered for a long time (think of the next Dakota Fanning). I'm starting my first year of high school in August, and I know they have a drama class, but would that be enough to land a role in a movie, or even as an extra?

Here are some reasons why I don't think I'll be able to conquer my dream:

1.) I've NEVER been on screen, let alone a commercial.

2.) I've only been in ONE play my entire life (which I wrote as well). Unfortunately, I don't have the script either.

3.) My mom doesn't have the money to take me to acting classes, let alone hiring an acting COACH or an AGENT.

What can I do to jump-start my career (if I'll ever have one), or is it too late?

  2. its never too late!! just take it slow and easy for a while til you start to get the hang of acting and you are sure you want to do this just do some drama classes and community theater for a couple of years first then go from there meaning getting an agent and going out for movies and such

  4. Do u have savings? Maybe if u have some of ur own money, or if u get some $$$ for ur b-day or some holiday or just when u get some money, u can save it up. Maybe u should start by doing more things to pursue ur dream in acting, because a drama class is good but isn't enough. I'm 12 years old(going to 13) and i also want to be an actress. But u should do more things taht can add to ur resume and stuff. Hope i helped u

  5. You don't hire agents, they kinda hire you....They find you jobs they get 10-15% of the money....
