  1. Naw its not too late.. But baseball is a game of failure so it all depends on how you take it. You have to be confident at life that you can do anything.. and if it is your first year on a team you have to go out there and don't  let the really good players get too you. Even if you don't make THE team.. there are plenty of different teams that would love to have you on there team!! I mean I didn't make the freshman team two years ago but my sophomore year I made the JV team and dressed for the playoffs for varsity and we won state.. so even if you don't make this team.. Just work your *** off in the off season and RUN!! running is huge and then you will be just fine just be confident and have a good work ethic and you'll do fine.

  2. no, but it will be harder than if you started at a younger age

  3. Oh, heck no!!! Get out there and go for it -- and have fun!!! :-)

  4. well first if you are going to sign up for baseball i would start practicing quite a bit like 2-3 times a week for about an hour each day and dont worry about being over weight you can still play positions like 3rd 1st and catcher if you have a strong arm you might be able to pitch and look at prince fielder he is over weight but he has hit 2 in the park home runs. Good luck baseball is an awsome game =)

  5. I am afraid it might be, but I would not let that hold you back from at least trying out. If you go out there and give it your best, even if you don't make the team, the coaches and other athletes will respect you for it. Besides, you will know that you have done your best. I always regret not having tried out for high school sports, at the preference of my parents.

  6. Its never to late. If you work hard and believe then you can practically do anything. So many people have dreams but never accomplish them because they arent ambitious about them. Go out and start practicing and train hard and if you do these things you'll probably make it. Good Luck.

  7. You can always play in the local little league, no matter how good you are. About the school team I know in my school the picking of the baseball team was very political so unless you have naturral talent, making the team will be difficult. Good Luck! P.S. Little Leauge is usually more fun than the school team. I would consider playing first base or second base in your situation, because it is a position the least running involved. Aslo, the majority of batters are right handed which means they will most likey pull the ball down to 3Rd and short.

  8. No. if u train constantly u will be able to play like a star. Me Mate started playing when he was 16 and he is doing really well. He is so good he is able to play with me in Div 2. So to answer your question i believe that you could be a good 1st baseman or a catcher.

  9. I don't know about which position to play, but I would say definately sign up for baseball.  It's better to see how you like it in Middle School than to have your first year be in High School. If you aren't good in High School, it seems to be much more brutal when you let the team down. I tried my first year of Wrestling in the 8th Grade (I'll be in 10th this year).

The sports at the Middle School are intense, but now where near the high school level. It's a great place to start.   :D  :)

  10. Absolutely not. Your a kid. Do you know what the most important position in baseball is? The catcher. Catchers are usually stocky and a little heavier because they need to be sturdy. I think it would be a good position to start in and see if you would like to try anywhere else. If you are fast, outfield would be good too. Try practicing with a pitcher that you know. This will give you the best experience as a catcher. I'm sure they will appreciate you offering to do this. I'll give you this advice that not alot of people know, make sure you get a good glove, spend some money on it, and oil it up and microwave it for a few minutes. Use to play softball highschool/college, good luck!

  11. no it's not too late. if you really enjoy the sport, and put a little time and work into it, you never know what could happen. believe me i speak from experience. i've seen kids that started playing as a freshman in highschool, and worked hard and are now fighting for a varsity spot. don't ever let anyone tell you your not good enough or it's too late. as for position, catcher would be #1 choice, or possibly 2nd base.

  12. yes it is too late because in the 8th grade you need to be very good  and impress the coaches on the team if your confedent enough you would have a chance of being on the team

  13. im going into 8th and trying out for softball next year ive played alot but you should try my school is hge but it is worth trying

  14. dude most def start     i play with a kid who started in 8th   and he hit leadoff and i hit 2nd for r team   and he was pretty good

i wood say play first base or left field if ur good at fly balls if ur overweight

but definetly try out and work on ur skills every day

  15. it may be too late i started in third grade and didn't make it untill 7th grade, but i've made it in 8th 9th and probably 10th, but if you like it, practice like crazy untill try outs, i suggest getting hitting lessons, and if you dont make it you get another year  or two to make it, but after that it would be a huge longshot.
