I'm 15 years old and a sophomore in high school. I used to play basketball a lot when I was younger and I was good at it.

By the time I started middle school I stopped playing and I started to play video games and never went outside. The same with my freshmen year in high school.

I wasted nearly 5 years of life playing video games ( Honestly I wish I never started). It has been 5 years since I actually touched a basketball and I really want to play for my school team.

I'm not sure if I should even attempt to try out to make a fool of myself, since it has been so long and the other people are more skilled than me and I most likely lost my touch with in those 5 years.

I don't know what to do, I get bored a lot and want to keep myself occupied.

  1. Umm....I'm 15 and a sophomore in high school. But I've been playing regularly since the 2nd grade, so all I can say is get out there and practice as often as you can, and try to improve as much as possible.

Then, if you feel comfortable, go ahead and try out. You have nothing to lose, and if you don't make it but you still wanna practice/improve, ask the coach if he can make you a manager, or just let you practice with the team.

  2. I'd say go ahead and try out, but you might wanna practice a lot before tryouts and get in some pick up games to tune up your skills.

  3. Thats is a long time 5 years without hooping is like if you don't know how to play.

When I don't play for a month my shot sucks until I adjust.

Plus if you played before middle school that means you have 5th grade skills. NOT GOOD
