Is it too late to start street dancing?

Right im a 15 year old boy who wants to learn street dancing.. am i too old to start learning?

No way, it doesn't matter how old you are. Don't you see old people doing the tango in halls? They're not too old obviously! (:

I dance a lot and I only became relatively interested in Street Dance when I was 12, then when people said I was good, I carried on with it.

If you're going to enjoy it then you should totally find a class. But make sure its with a class of your same level.

You don't even have to take classes, if you study or go over dance routines on music videos or on YouTube, you'll definately be able to copy, adapt and make up your own. YouTube also provides loads of tutorials so that would be a cheap way to learn different routines and moves.

No, my friend, you're never too old or young.

Here are some tips to keep you going.



* Don't give up. If you feel something's too hard, just try your best.

* Practise. Every dancer will tell you this. The more you practise, the more technique and experience you will get.

* Come to all of your dance lessons. Don't miss a single one!

* Work your backside off in your lessons. You won't regret it!

* Take as many lessons as you can. The more the better, but it's OK if you can only do one class.

* Be healthy. If you're healthy, you'll be a good dancer, and I'm not talking about the technique.

* Listen to any advice or tips any dancers have to give you.

Also, if you want to do street dancing and you've never done it, it would be best to start at hip hop.

Don't worry, you're never too old. Trust me.

I've seen a guy on a dance TV show, not SYTYCD, who impressed me by saying he only started dancing a year ago! He was about 30.

And also 30 year old ladies do classical lessons and they're good!

But also remember the world of dance is a tough one.

Are you sure you want to spend your life with it?

Dancing is hard and you don't get paid much for it.

Maybe you should just do the lessons and practise, then get a job and if you see any auditions for dance shows such as So You Think You Can Dance, give it a go!

But it's all your choice so do whatever you like.

It is never too late to dance, the expression of your inner being is not restrained by time, age etc.
