I am a 24 year old male who has always enjoyed the sport of track and field. In high school i posted very fast times but when i started college, i decided i wanted to work instead and only went for one year. I have been looking to get back into school and also to get back into running but i don't know if it's too late. I would love to go to the Olympics one day if i could qualify, i'm just afraid that it might be too late. Does anyone have any input on this? Any info at all would be very much appreciated. Thanks to all that answer!!

  1. I BELIEVE IN U

  2. No, you are not too old, just believe in yourself and train. The olympics will be held in London in 2012, you have plenty of time to train. I am thinking about training and doing the Track and Field. I am a sprinter. Who wouldn't want to be an olympian. It was a 31 year old sprinter for the USA at the olympics of this year and home-girl could run and she was pure competition. It is not age that defines a person, it is his/her ambition of wanting to do something and doing what it takes to achieve that goal. A 39 year old won the gold medal for running 26 miles, a 41 year old swimmer won the silver medal...do you get my point, one thing you can always tell your kids or grandkids is that you are never too old to do something....Though if you are serious about trying out for the 2012 olympics, start training now, those muscles, consistency, and level headness, the people have does not come in a short period of time.

  3. It doesn't matter how old you are you need to be able to run the times to firstly get asked to trial and secondly to qualify.  Give it a go.  Once you have been training for a bit you will know if you are likely to be able to get the times required.  There is 4 years of practice time for you.

  4. yeah the olympics have already started so you won't make it in time unless you train for a day and fly out there tomorrow.

  5. no its never late for nothing.. if its your dream..then u go right ahead and follow that dream. i read a magazine a few days ago, about people way older than that talking about real life experience who made it into the olympics.. Just dont give up..work hard.. Good luck.

  6. You'll be 28 by the next Olympics, it doesn't look too good but you never know. 28 is pretty old in Olympic years.

I was just checking out some ages of the guys now, not too many over 25, check it out:

  7. If you want to qualify for the US, I really don't know. They have world class athletes who train with the best coaches. You never though, go for it.

  8. it is not too late......

    3 by 4 % is left.........

if u hard work u can achieve it..........

u can be proud of ur country...........
