Is it too much to ask for?

July 11th is my brothers birthday.

Im going to be going to his party.

But I the guy I like is playing in a concert that night and im going to it. I already have my tickets and everything.

My mom wants to buy tickets for her and my brother too.

He doesn't really want to go but im pretty sure she'll end up buying tickets.

I do not want them tagging along. This is my event.

How can I nicely keep her away?

Ummm....if your mom wants to go, she has every right to go. It isn't your event. It isn't about you is it? It's not a private party, it's a public event, therefore anyone can go.

So, i'd suggest just to suck it up. You don't necessarily have to sit with her.

How old are you? If you are under 18 you may not have a choice. If you are over 18 then just tell her this is your thing- PERIOD!

Buy them both tickets to something else.

Maybe a movie your brother really wants to see.

tell her you will get them tickets, and then tell them it was sold out.
