Is it too much to ask the media to refer to Madiba as Mr Mandela and not Mandela?

Why does the media refer to Baba Mandela as 'Mandela'. This is offensive. He should be referred to as Mr Mandela- at the very least. BBC and World media- take note.

I agree, but it's a compliment in a way you know. He doesn't need a title or a first name - his fame and importance takes him way beyond that.

He obviously likes it because all his followers call him Mandela or Madiba!

The most important thing is that the media DO recognise the greatness of the man; he does not need and probably doesn't want any titles setting him apart from the people he loves and who love him.  He is a humble man, part of his greatness.
