Two three 3mg melatonins pose absolutely no risk to you.  Although in general processing any pill puts extra pressure/work on your liver, this is an infinitesimal increase.  Nevertheless if you are taking melatonin, I would also suggest taking 3 tablets of milk thistle a day since these have been shown to increase the health and function of the liver.
