Question:

Is it too old to try for the olympics if im 13 and just starting to swim competitvly?

im 13 and i want to shoot for the 2012 olympics, i know itd be very tough, but do you think its possible? anything i can do to help the process?

  1. go ahead i am 13 and i started intense training a couple weeks ago. get a good trainer and go to the pool alot. make sure you eat healthy and hopefully i will see you there!!


  2. I don't know, I think a good idea would be to join a swim club and get a coach to train you; you won't be able to represent your country in the Olympics if your country doesn't know you exist. And if you're worried that you're only going to be 17 in 2012, that's not a problem either. There were several 16 year-olds competing in the Olympics in Beijing this year.

  3. if you don't try, you'll never know.  it's entirely possible that you can compete if you work hard.  swim as much as possible.
