I left school last month and have been planning to move there straight after school. My mum and dad think I should get some experience from work like an apprentice but I want to move right away because I am worried I will never be able to move to Ireland. What Should I do

  1. Im Irish and honestly the idea of an apprentiship is not a good idea at the moment...there are not enough jobs here not- fully qualified Irish people cant get work - If i was you i would wait a while until our economy is in a better state.  We are heading towards a recession whether people like to admit it or not - we are!  with or without a apprentiship you most likely wont get a job right now...your better off waiting

  2. Are you 16 or 18?  If you're 16, I wouldn't advise it, even though legally you can leave home your parents remain responsible for your welfare until you turn 18 & you're not entitled to benefits.

I think the idea of an apprenticeship is a good one, you'll have a skill that can go anywhere and it will broaden your options if you decide to travel abroad as well.

  3. hey,

If i were you i would get an apprentice first...trust me i live in Ireland..........an apprentice would be great otherwise you wont survive !!!

Ireland is heading towards a rescission....and of course you will get to this country....and it would be alot easier to get here and be happy her if you had some sort of qualification!!!
