Is it true, that you can't be cremated in the state of New York?

i'm in Australia and some one told me this, yesterday,and i wondered if true, what is the reasoning behind it?

It was an American person that told me.

yes it is. I'm from NY the reason its against the law is because most NYers are alcoholics and every one knows if you burn an alcoholic they'll burn for about three days because of all the alcohol in there blood.......LOL no silly of course you can be cremated in NY we cremated my aunt 2 years ago   of course you can

It is legal to cremate in the state of New York.
