Is it true Jeff Gordon wants NASCAR to inspect the Gibbs car's gear ratios in the rear axle for foul play?

I was browsing some old AM radio stations amd came across the Nashville TN station. There was reports of Jeff Gordon wanting Gibbs and also the Ford cars inspected for foul play with rear axle gear ratios.

Has anyone heard anything else about this that could confirm a potential problem?

  1. yeah well why wouldn't he want them too.  Kyle's way back up front did happen awful quick and does seem a little fishy to me.  And as I recall Jeff, Jimmie, and Jr (plus others) got inspected and punished for stuff last year.  So if everyone is sure Kyle did nothing wrong then why are they so scared to have the inspection???? Jeff's not a cry baby he's just  not a cheater.

  2. He didn't say anything about the gear ratio.  What he said was that NASCAR should take a look at several teams, not just the two you bring up, because teams are turning the rear housing to yaw out the rear of the cars which creates more side force helping with cornering.  NASCAR's stance is that teams are allowed a 1/4 inch either way and all the teams experimenting with this setup are within limits.

  3. Yea Jeff is a cray baby cheater.  He needs to be fired

  4. This proves that jeff is a cry baby....Whinne!!!!!!!He probably wants his mommy too!!!!

  5. Kevin S said it plain & simple.  I am going to read article now

  6. this question from a man (gordon) from a team (hms) who i'm almost sure has more NASCAR crew chief "timeouts" (including getting in trouble for being at the track during their suspensions) than anyone else running.  at one point last year, weren't latarte, knaus and tony eury jr all "seated on the sidelines" at the same time?

  7. yes because there cars are way to fast and how can you go that fast when they hit the wall like the 18 car did and 99 car car is in a angle going down the start finish line

  8. Go for it. JGR has nothing to hide. Never has, never will.

  9. I doubt it. The transmission gear ratios would be more concealable and detrimental to winning.

  10. Who knows probably.  I think he's right for a change they should and what's up with the lug nut dilemna at JGR
