  1. He's too busy talking about all of the major legislation he's sponsored during his decades in congress. Besides, he'd never for a moment consider such a cheap political ploy as to try to exploit his POW status to further his political ambitions.

Edit: I see that a lot of people have their sarcasm detectors off today.

  2. Yes he was and yes he has.

The other night when Jay Leno asked him how many houses he had, he answered with information about his years as a P.O.W.

While I respect him for his bravery and his fortitude, the answer was the worst answer I have heard from him yet.

  3. Its not something you talk about

  4. I'm hoping this is sarcasm. He never quits talking about it. And why should that help anyone get elected? Being a POW doesn't mean you can be a good president.

  5. Do you need me to help you lift the rock that you have been living under?

  6. He mentions it all the time.  You must not be listening.

  7. troll

  8. It is true and he has mentioned it several times.

However, a person war record doesn't necessarily qualify him to lead the country.

  9. He talks about it in this month's edition of Reader's Digest.

  10. He all but wears a paper crown with POW on it.

and while he discusses it, its been used to deflect all sorts of criticism about him, and to make his presidency seem like payment for his suffering, which he did have, as so many others before and since did, but they took their lumps without claiming sainthood.

  11. Yeah. I read that about him once.

He must be humble. He should use it though... like a "get out of jail free" card. No pun intended.

  12. Start paying attention and maybe you'll hear about it. GOOD LUCK!

  13. I think he has not mentioned it TODAY.

For those who are saying that he had a chance to leave, but let his buddies go first. Anyone in the Military knows that you do not get released before the ones there before you as POW's. Otherwise, you are viewed as a punk and not one to be trusted.

  14. Yes he was, for five years during the Vietnam War. And he was severely tortured a long time and suffered considerable injuries as a result.

He was to be released after about two years, but there were other prisoners who were in danger of dieing. McCain was given the opportunity to choose release or allow others to be released instead. He chose to stay and was tortured for another three years in a more brutal fashion of torture than he had already suffered.

  15. Wow, that's quite the shocker, and would explain a lot!

    My name? Entirely coincidental...

  16. When was he a PoW?  I didn't know that. Was it World War 2? How did he escape?

  17. You're kidding  right?

  18. Too flippin funny. Thank you.

  19. Yes he was and he does mention it, but would you want to talk about it all the time? True Heroes don't brag, usually they hate being called heroes because they fill they were just doing their job.

I think this question should of been "Who wants to bad mouth on the only canidate running that is worth anything?"

Let me guess all of you who mouthed McCain are supporters of Obama or are Liberals. McCain is the only one running now that has enough commom sense to be in office and the only one that deserves to be in office.

    McCain Supporter.

  20. He rarely mentions it because it is not an issue for election and most heor's don't talk about such things!

    Go McCain 08

  21. It`s fun to play with the ignorant..isn`t it ?....Take it to the next level. Make a difference...If you`re going to blab, make it count...get to YOUR point and convince an ignorant voter.

  22. lmao - this is sarcasm, right?

in his earlier bids for election he stated he would not use it to get elected.  as with everything else he may have stood for before this election that has gone by the way side.

mccain plays that pow card like a violin.  its the answer to every question, no matter how relative it is to the issue.

    EDIT - Philip H - that's misinformation.

nice team work guys, Karl Rove would be proud.

  23. He rarely mentions it most true heroes do not feel compelled to mention their acts of heroism.

  24. I assume you are being facetious.
