  1. Diana may well be related to the Stuart royals, I'm sure a quick google search will tell you (her family are the Spencers, who started off as Royalists in the civil war, so within the royal 'in circle' anyway). As for the Elizabeths being related, I'm sure they are in a very distant way, but Elizabeth I had no children and the monarchy passed into a different family. Our current monarchy is very influenced by German blood (Prince Albert) so the link must be tedious. As for being great aunt of great cousin, this is impossible because hundreds of years separate them and it wouldn't be as simple as that. Hope that helps!

  2. Can't answer your questions, but would like to comment on E the 1st !!! One great lady who  achieved much for England !!! She set the tone for that country for many years after her demise !!! She became a person that other enemy Kings wanted to marry but she maintained her virgin status and preserved England as a result !!! God uses people in an unusual way so that His word would accomplish much !!! So don't be suprised if God isn't using you in a very special way so that you will say later I SEE HIS HAND IN MY LIFE and rejoice over that fact !!!

  3. The Spencer family descends from both John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough, and Charles II  (r. 1649-1685) through his mistress, Lucy Walters.  Camilla Parker Bowles is also a descendant of another one of Charles II's mistresses.

The Stuarts ascended to the English throne because Elizabeth I died without producing any heirs.  The only son of her first cousin, Mary Queen of Scots, was the legitimate heir to the English throne. James I of England (and VI of Scotland) ruled both kingdoms after the death of his second cousin, Elizabeth Tudor.  Margaret Tudor, Henry VIII's sister, married James IV of Scotland, making her Mary Queen of Scots grandmother and the great grandmother of James I (or VI).  Curiously enough, her second marriage to Archibald Douglas, Earl of Angus, produced the mother of Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley, Mary Queen of Scot's first cousin, second husband, and father of James II.

Queen Elizabeth II is also related to the Stuarts in another way since the daughter of James I (or VI), Elizabeth of Bohemia, married Frederick V, Elector of the Palentine. Elizabeth's daughter, Sophia of Hanover, is the ancestor of the Hanoverian kings of England as well as the Houses of Saxe-Coburg Gotha, and Windsor. Since Elizabeth of Bohemia was an aunt of Charles II, this would establish a great, great, great (you do the math) relationship.

All of which makes for the world's longest continuing soap opera!
